National Honor Society
The National Honors Society (NHS) and the National Junior Honors Society (NJHS) are organizations for students who demonstrate exceptional commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Over a million students participate in NHS and NJHS activities and NHS and NJHS chapters are found in all 50 states, US Territories, Canada, and around the world. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. Only students with a GPA above 3.7 and less than 3 pink slips will be appointed to the NHS or NJHS. Students appointed will be expected to participate in a number of leadership and service projects throughout the year. Being appointed to the NHS or NJHS is a great honor that reflects well on a students academic resume and gives access to a variety of scholarships and networking opportunities.
